The Ultimate Coaches and Players Conference is dedicated to the promotion, teaching and growth of ultimate. This year’s theme is Education and our goal is to educate those who are new to the sport of ultimate, as well as those who have been involved for years. We hope our slate of presenters will be able to offer something for everyone, from the middle school organizer to the club team captain. We also want people to enjoy some face-to-face time with the presenters as well as the other attendees.

Today’s ultimate players rely almost solely on technology to communicate and educate, and often that communication can be counterproductive. Meeting someone in person at the UCPC will perhaps lead to some real alliances and partnerships in the future. In the eighties, all the ultimate captains on the East Coast would meet once or twice a year, often in Philly or Purchase, to figure out the tournament schedule and discuss any current issues. For those who attended, the captains’ meetings were important, valuable and a lot of fun; our hope is that the UCPC, in some way, will recreate that experience for today’s coaches and players.
